This archive of ephemera is the result of a decade's worth of Hong Kong film and film fandom paraphernalia collecting conducted between 1995-1997 and 2001-2003. The 1990s collection came about as part of my own Japan-based fandom of Hong Kong movies and stars, and it includes such ephemera as VCD mail order catalogues and newsletters from the Yumcha Club and Chimasse Hong Kong film fanclubs. The 2000s collection was a more concentrated effort to obtain materials for my PhD dissertation, which was a study on Japanese women fans Hong Kong films and stars. As much of what I've had sitting in boxes for years is now all but disappeared, I wanted to share it with the wider world of Hong Kong film fans and scholars.
